The Stars and the Moon by Barry James Barry James : The Stars and the Moon.
Instrumental music with an edge.

This album evokes a sense of peace and contemplation while lying under the stars. More organic than Barry James' previous work, the aim with "The Stars and the Moon" was to produce complex instrumentals while creating engaging, lively performances. xylophone, thick effected guitars, layered vocal tracks, jazz tones and percussive scratches all lead the listener effortlessly between melody, harmony and rhythm.

The one exception to the instrumental theme is the song The Stars and the Moon, which was written for James' daughter. This song uses layered instrumentation to ponder the objects that fill the night sky. The resulting work, recorded entirely in James' home, is a collection of music that takes you on a journey to the unfamiliar corners of the everyday.
