Benji Goodrich : Waiting.
Solo piano to relax with.
Waiting is an album dedicated to my family, current and future. We are excitedly
looking forward to bringing home a daughter from Ethiopia later this year. We
are eagerly awaiting what God has in store for us. All proceeds from the sale of
this album go directly into our adoption fund. Thank you for your donation. May
the one true God be given glory through the gift he has given me.
Song notes:
"Longing" This song has a sense of anticipation and of not being fully complete.
We are longing to have our daughter home with us even though we don't know her
name, what she looks like or how old she is.
"Oceans Apart" Our daughter and her forever family are for now, oceans apart.
"Coming Home" This is one of my favorite songs to just sit down and play.
Although the chord structure doesn't change, I never it play it the same way
twice.
"Isaiah's Song" This is a song I wrote for our son Isaiah before he was born. He
was born in early 2006 and this was written in late 2005. No official lyrics but
if you listen closely you can maybe put the words "Isaiah, I love you so, I
always will, Isaiah" to the melody.
"My Daughter's Waltz" This is the most recent song I have written. I wanted to
write something whimsical yet distinctly feminine with the 3/4 waltz feel. I
can't wait to play this for our daughter when she comes home.
"My Beloved and My Friend" This is a very special song. I wrote this for Missy
while we were dating. I proposed to her as it was playing (I have recorded it
before), and she walked down the aisle to it at our wedding. She is and always
will be my beloved and my friend.
"Iowa" I wrote this song in 2003 right around the time we moved to Colorado. We
took a road trip soon after through Iowa (where Missy has extended family) to
Minnesota for Missy's brother's wedding. I needed a title for this song and
driving through Iowa with it's unique beauty seemed to fit this song perfectly.
"...Walks with God" I wrote this song in the Spring of 2004 after we experienced
the miscarriage of our first baby. Trusting that our little one was whole and
perfect, dancing with Jesus in heaven gave us great comfort during that time of
deep sorrow.
"Stargazing" When I first met Missy (my wife) she was teaching 2nd
grade at San Jose Christian School. She had a piano in her classroom and invited
me to come and play for her kids. This is one of the songs I played with the
kids. They would lay down pretending to stargaze while I played this song.
