Falling in Light by Bindi Society Bindi Society : Falling in Light.
Power harp, other-worldly vocals and global percussion.

Featuring an exotic fusion of timbres and disciplines, Bindi Society combines Celtic, Indian and Middle Eastern-influenced vocals with classically-tinged groove harp, world percussion, santur, marimba and kick-ass electric bass. The instruments and voices merge to produce a global, rhythmic, spiritual and highly unearthly sound.

Several songs are personalized interpretations of beautiful and ancient Indian chants sung in Sanskrit. 'Shivoham' is inspired by Manish Vyas's original song of the same name (from 'Sattva', White Swan Records). 'The Mourner's Kaddish' is a reimagining of the Hebrew prayer. 'Bela' is influenced by traditional Eastern European folk music and named in honor of composer Béla Bartok. 'Sundari' features Renaissance Bagpipes and a hybrid invented language. Several of the tracks began with guitar-like harp arrangements with effects processing influenced greatly by bands such as Pink Floyd and Zeppelin.
