Burnshee Thornside : The Art of Not Blending In.
Funny, funky blues.
Along with a prodigious group of Stockholm musicians, Burnshee Thornside serves up an eclectic mix of upbeat songs ranging from jazzy funk and soul to sixties sunshine pop. Thornside's smooth voice contrasts nicely with Burnshee's spicy guitar licks on songs like "Can I be a star?". The sheer eclecticism of this album is a part of its charm, but we particularly like the smouldering slow-grooves of tracks like "Lamborghino" and the hot driving rhythms of "Spanish Brass & Fury." (We can just see Quentin Tarantino crusing around L.A. to that one in particular.) Impeccable musicianship, good humor, and contagious enthusiasm throughout.
Songs:
1. Can I be a star:
2. Lamborghino
3. In the 60's (love was cool)
4. Goodbye on a beautiful day
5. Borderline (featuring Lilling)
6. Love U like a train
7. Good to me
8. When my baby plays the trombone
9. One at a time (featuring Monica)
10. Make it go away
11. How the story goes
