Colin Booth : Essential Scarlatti.
Solo harpsichord music.
Domenico Scarlatti is well-known as one of the greatest, perhaps THE greatest
harpsichord virtuoso who ever lived. He wrote over 550 sonatas, but only a few
of these are well-known today. Essential Scarlatti offers several of these, plus
some of Colin Booth's other favourites, which combine to show the varied
character of the great genius. Some are soulful, others dramatic, and others
again, breathtakingly virtuosic.
