John writes: this past summer I was in Berlin for a month and my friend
Stephen Hill (who runs the legendary "Hearts of Space" radio show) had
introduced me to Amelia and her husband Werner. Amelia is Italian, but studied the ancient singing form of Dhrupad in India.
Stephen Hill considers her one of the foremost Dhrupad
singers in the world. Be sure to check out "Danza D'Amore", a Dhrupad raga
written by Amelia, sung in Italian, which stunned me when I saw it performed
live this summer. Also be sure to watch the *amazing* video at the bottom of
her home page, where she sings and dances behind a circular projection
screen.
