Released in June of 2005, the mesmerizing Spheres features 22 different instruments from around the world including didjeridu, djembe (African hand drum), hang (steel tone drum), hulusi (ancient woodwind from China), and talking drum from Africa. The overall effect is a deeply soothing blend of acoustic drone, rhythm, and melody. Spheres also includes a few choice selections from Christopher's popular street show, which he has performed in more than 14 countries and in which he plays up to six instruments at one time. A particular standout on this album is the "Sojourner" track; its muted tone drums sound almost impossibly gentle and atmospheric.
