Federico Moscogiuri : Orpheus.
Original and evocative lute music.
Orpheus
In Greek mythology, Orpheus was effectively the embodiment of music: a sublime musician, born of a Muse, taught by Apollo, capable of charming all the creatures of the world with his lyre. Gentle, soulful, evocative: these are words which would probably have described such music, and which also describe the sound of the lute. While not purporting to come close to so great a gift as that of Orpheus, this album can be regarded as a tribute to the kind of music that he might have played. As the Classics inspired the early thinkers, artists and musicians of the Renaissance, so they have partly inspired this album, which is like stepping into a dream.
