J. NILSSON PROJECT - 8hr SESSION

This is a new lineup, consisting of some of the finest musicians in Sweden. Except for one: the composer and guitarist Johan Nilsson (also the guitar player in EJP and Burnshee Thornside). What he did though, was to initiate one day in the studio. One day with 8 compositions. Lunch and coffe-breaks were served. Music were played. Unedited. Unrehearsed. No strings, no rules. Just "go with the flow".

A long life dream, for me, just to have these guys in the same room and play together and see what came out. Well, the "8hr session" is what came out. And the guys stretched. The first track is ten minutes long! Which is crazy and a bit brave and bold. But as the title suggests, "Blues for Monk", it's a tribute to a brave and bold person. Then right after that comes a beautiful ballad, titled "Half Goodbye", and the tenor saxophone will make you cry...

Join the J. Nilsson project and be amazed.

Tomas Bergquist: Bass.
André Ferrari: Drums.
