Float by Michael Joy Michael Joy : Float.
Dreamlike soundscapes of folk americana.

Dreamy, intimate, americana, Michael Joy's "float" presents soundcapes both dense and subtle to the ear.

'Float' was recorded in Lexington Kentucky, 2006, by Duane Lundy at Shangrila Studios, with further production by Justin Phelps in San Francisco. The album features "Scourge Of The Sea" a great band from Lexington, plus Duane Lundy, and many veteran players from the San Francisco area. Mixed by Justin Phelps at Hyde St Studios, San Francisco, and mastered by veteran engineer John Cuniberti at The Plant in Sausalito, California.

Although still primarily possessing a folk pop feel, 'float' moves more widely within the fields of americana, country, folk, pop, and folk rock than the previous "river of days". Gathering members from the bands of Jolie Holland, Ryan Adams, and Chuck Prophet, a dreamy, intimate quality permeates the recording.
