In 1998, Junoon took both Pakistan and India by storm with the hit single "Sayonee" and then proceeded to sell over 25 million albums in the next nine years, playing an active role in bringing the people of India and Pakistan together for which they were granted the UNESCO award for Outstanding Achievements in Music and Peace.
