Maurice and the Beejays : The Electric Dark Bulb.
Music for imaginary films and television shows.
Dark, occasionally ironic jazz.
Several sequels where planned for the classic "The Abonimable Dr. Phibes" (1971
Fuest) but only one was ever made "Dr. Phibes Rises Again!" (1972 Fuest).
The Electric Darkbulb was to be a story from Anton Phibes teenage years. A
diligent music student, Phibes found his daily organ practice increasingly
disturbed by thoughts of the short passages from the Old Testament he would find
pushed under his bedroom door each morning. He became convinced the messages
came from the unnamed "girl next door" who would smile up at him from the garden
as the sun set on the long summer days. Taunted by the muffled laughter he could
hear through the stone walls of his room at night, he would scour the Bible for
a fitting way to end his torment. Until, as the first leaves of autumn fell, the
messages stopped, there was no more laughter and he never saw the girl again.
Songs:

2. There Used to be a Girl Next Door
3. The Electric Darkbulb
