House of the Rising Sun by Psycliq Psycliq : House of the Rising Sun.
An electric heart with an organic soul.

Independent electronic band "Psycliq" returns to put a new twist on an old classic, House of the Rising Sun. Originally a folk blues ballad, the song came to notoriety in the 1960's when British rock group "The Animals" released their now iconic rendition of it to worldwide acclaim. It has since been picked up by many different artists, but none have put quite the unique spin on it that "Psycliq" has.

What started as a simple exercise to cover a single song quickly spiraled into a complicated project of four very distinct remixes, each capturing different aspects of the material. Incorporating more moving parts than any Psycliq recording to date, the steady groove of the original mix quickly gives way to a cacophonous barrage of audio bliss, taking you along on the bluesman's sad tale of warning and woe. The Amped Up Blender mix cranks up the drums and guitars to eleven and never looks back. The Transistor Party Stomp mix somehow manages to add even more layers on top of the already full palette, and its driving rhythm makes no apologies for its pace. At the other end of the rail line, the Organ Donor mix strips everything away again to its raw essentials.
