Tim Rayborn : Honey From The Thorn.
Medieval and middle eastern music.
A collection of songs, dances, devotional pieces, and instrumental realizations
from medieval England, encompassing the 12th through the early 14th centuries.
Despite much damage done to the manuscript sources, and much music being lost,
what little medieval English music that does survive gives us a rare and
precious glimpse into what must have been a vibrant musical culture.
On this recording, medieval scholar and musician Tim Rayborn presents some of
this variety on reconstructions of medieval instruments, as well as with the
voice. Joined by the prodigious musical talents of Annette Bauer, Phoebe
Jevtovic, Shira Kammen, and Susan Rode Morris, this recording captures the
spirit of a time long past.
