Sampson-Carroll : From Dust to Dusk.
Lush and minimal; melodic and drone-like; pastoral and edgey.
There is something about playing in front of an audience that raises the bar for
musicians. The adrenaline flows a bit more, and the desire to come across well
is given an edge from knowing there won't be any do-overs.
These are five live moments from Sampson-Carroll, recorded at an art gallery
opening, a pre-show for dinner theater guests, a coffee house, and silent movie
accompaniment. After hearing "From Dust to Dusk", Bill Binkelman (Wind and Wire)
stated, "When you listen to this and recall that this is a live album, you'll
probably be as mystified as I am".
Songs:
1. Moon Over Pi-Sampson
2. Enchanted-Sampson
3. Man Is Sand-Sampson
4. Sombre-Sampson
5. Eastern Front-Sampson
