Gerard follows his heart, instinct, taste and musical ear instead of traditional musical or harmonic rules while composing. He aims for quality rather than quantity, releasing nothing unless he is totally committed to the piece. His interests lie in the Eastern music of Armenian Folk, Arabic, Romanian, Jewish (and alike), and also French Impressionists.
When Gerard started out composing these pieces between 2007 and 2008 they were for voice and piano, but they soon evolved into something more complicated, so he arranged them for flute, cello, violin and piano.
Playing with Gerard on this album are:
Heidi Kurz - flute
Evan Buttar - cello
Elvira Voskanyan - violin
Song # 1 is inspired by a poem by Bonnie Nish.
Song # 7 is a beautiful piece dedicated to Gerard's mother.
