The aptly titled Ambient Excursions is Stargarden's best-selling album to date, and provides the listener with a big, cosmic yet infinitely subtle listening experience: entire sonic geographies unfold slowly in front of Bobby DeVito's wide lens, revealing far-away worlds of both pure sound and pure pattern laid overtop the sound, like shadown and light playing on a sonic topography. The trace doppler patterns in "Millenia" create perhaps one of the most subtly captivatingly ambient tracks of all time while the oh-so laid back groove of "Astral Dub" lends temporary structure to the cosmic clouds. Put it on and let it slowly unfurl.
