Tom Paul : I Was King.
Roots rock meets contemporary folk.
Melodic and accessible,I Was King is great singer-songwriter fare in the tradition of David Grey and John Hiatt, with a touch of Tom Petty's influence. It's warm, personal, and in Tom Paul's case, pretty darn easy going. "It's an Easy Life" opens the album, and manages to be intensely optimistic without being the least bit cloying. This album will make you feel good, in other words, which is a nice way to feel: dontcha think? "Highly hummable," says one listener.
