With its warm, rich tones and easygoing vibe, the instrumental It's Better This Way is Trip Wamsley's most accessible and polished work to date, and is an excellent show of his ability to use the bass guitar as a complete orchestra. Right hand, left hand, all ten fingers, tuning keys—every ounce of the bass guitar's potential is used. Musicains will appreciate his creative use of both fretted and fretless basses, as well as special effects, and detuners. It's Better This Way was recorded in Nashville with producer Todd Bragg (Caedmon's Call). A very artisanal album, crafted by a talented purist.
