Almaghrib: Relaxed pop and reggae music made in italy.

Almaghrib consists of Giovanni Dattolo (Voice), Juani Romano (Bass) and Filippo Triolo (Percussions) who started performing live acoustic covers in a roots/reggae vibe back in 2015. They were joined by Giovanni La Croce on the guitar and, in 2016, by Lorenzo Giancontieri on second guitar.

By March 2016, the musicians were already performing in the clubs of the province of Trapani (Sicily), starting to write their own songs and planning to record them.

In April 2017, a demo of the songs was brought to the attention of producer Rudy Pusateri, who decided to accept the project and help with the creation and release of the album. After two and a half years of work, the album "Silenzio" was released on 23 September 2019, the day of the autumn equinox.

The following artists from Valle del Belice participated in the production of the album and left their mark: Nino Leone (frontman from Tintinnabula), Francesco Coco (trumpet player from Reggae Zone Family band and Brass Youth Jazz Orchestra) and Antonio Taddeo (writer, author of some pieces). The band has been promoting its work by producing video clips and organizing a live tour through Italy for post-COVID times.

Also, they are currently working on their second album, which won't strictly follow the bands previous style, since the search for new means of expression is one of Almaghrib's core motivations.

No matter what, Almaghrib's music will make you want to jump and dance during concerts by the sea or in the squares of Sicily. Also, the music will cause you to contemplate harsher realities, all while dreaming of a stay on the beach during sunset.
