I received a few emails last time saying "It'd be great if Magnatune had an all-you-can-eat plan, where I could pay you a fixed fee per month and download everything I like".
hmm, that's a very good idea, since we offer exactly this:
* for as little as $10/month you can listen and download everything from Magnatune. For more info, see:

'Bach Connections' celebrates the kaleidoscopic art of Johann Sebastian Bach in
an invigorating recital of concerto movements, chorale preludes and fantasias.
Framed by two exceptionally ebullient concerto allegros, the programme neatly
juxtaposes Bach's mentor Buxtehude with a distinguished 19th-century
performer-composer (Karg-Elert), alongside a famous re-working of a Venetian
work (Marcello) and a supremely lyrical essay by a highly-regarded student of
Bach's (Krebs). The modern transcriber-performer finds his own peculiar
connection with J.S. Bach in original new repertoire for the thrilling
combination of organ and trumpet. In the words of Gramophone, 'the present disc
can hardly be bettered'.

Ontogeny is a conceptual work designed to represent the sequence of life from conception to death. It is entirely composed in the medium of one synthesized voice as a symbol of the journey of any one person. It is the most artistically unified piece of Kourosh's works to date.
Mark Lush, Midwestbands.com gave it the following review.
"I am a musician, but after listening to Kourosh Dini's latest release Ontogeny,
I have come to the realization that I am not an artist! There is no way that I
can imagine how he was able to conceptualize and create this project! I mean,
it's one thing to have an idea to create a soundscape representative of life
from birth to death; it's another to actually put pen to paper, fingers to
keys, and sound to tape, and come out with a finished project that is
believable and convincing! Like a sculptor or a painter, Kourosh saw a void,
and filled it with something beautiful!
We're very glad to present to you this debut-album of Un-Kai.
Literally meaning "sea of clouds" in Japanese, the music represents a new, fresh approach in sound design.
The concept behind Un-Kai is to integrate percussion
and electronic music as closely as possible. Not just two layers, an electronic
beat with percussion played over it, for example, but the sounds had to blend
together in a more organic way. We tried to do so by using all kinds of
technical trickery like triggering a vocoder by a Bendir (percussion instrument)
or using a convolution sample of a Tabla (instead of a reverb sample) over a
drum computer loop. But now we're getting too technical :-) Maybe more importantly
than the above, it had to be danceable and an adventure to listen to!
Chill out on organic percussive beats, relax on various oriental atmospheres and immerse yourself into this unique sound adventure!
"The hidden secret in this music is balm to the soul" writes one of many UK
therapists who use the album as an aid to relaxation and meditation. Some of the
music on the album was used in a pilot study at Bristol Cancer Help Centre, UK, and
results showed listeners experiencing an increased sense of well-being and
relaxation and a significant drop in tension. A physiological test also showed
significantly increased levels of salivary IgA (which is an indicator of immune
status) and measured decreased levels of cortisol (a stress indicator), marking
relaxation and improved mood.
Comments from patients included the following:
"The power of the music uplifted the spirit"
"I felt totally at peace"
"Music to feed the soul and fortify the body"
"The power of the music to disarm and enter people, to lift up their spirits and make them whole is amazing."
Gabriel's Message is a celebration of Advent, gathering together pieces from 13th-15th Century English manuscripts which depict the Angel Gabriel's visit to the Virgin Mary. Gabriel's Message is an anthology of Christmas past, from harsh winds to crackling fires, a peal of bells or a baby's cry, it captures the sounds of winter with both its hardships and its festivities.
