"Du déluge au désert" is a voyage into an electronic landscape of sounds, with climate change used as an underlying theme. Beautiful melodies, chilled out beats and a grand concept wrap it all together. Fantastique!
Flautist and composer Kim Ribeiro wanders across varied genres, from traditional jazz, jazz fusion, Brazilian jazz, and aspects of both early 20th century classical as well as minimalism.
'Death of a Speaker' by Kalotone delivers vibes of dubstep with pulses of electro, glitch, trip-hop and techno. Dubstep is a dark underground genre originating from the suburbs of London, England. It is essentially a mutation of dub and UK garage with an arty minimalist bass heavy twist.
A few weeks ago, we released the Sol Surfers, who jumped straight to number 1 on the Alt Rock charts at Magnatune:

Apparently, there are lots of fans of moody, Pink Floyd inspired rock. Hence, my recommendation this week is the band "Mountain Mirrors". They have 3 albums with us, and you might want to give their self-titled album a listen:

Description:
composed electronic music contrasted with ambient nature
"Du déluge au désert" is a voyage into a surreal landscape of sounds, with
climate change used as an underlying theme.
On his second album, Soleil Vert mixes electronic sounds with the ambient sounds
of nature, painting a surrealist picture of planet Earth.
Opening with a bestiary of living creatures, like crude digital memories of a
paradise lost for ever... The album then brings you underwater with "Sous la
mer...", and up with the areal beats of "Ozone"... the voyages continues with
the epic "Du déluge au désert" then the journey ends up in a desolate place,
like in a post-apocaliptic future on "Planète désolation"... You can bet that
the listener will have made quite a journey... from a deluge to a desert.
Beautiful playing and superb recording team up to put the listener right on the
bench beside the performer in this second recording from the Maricam Studio.
McIntosh essays some less frequently played Bach works, emphasizing the lyrical
and expressive, the wonder and the endless variety of Bach.
"The playing is
fresh and insightful, eager and probing; its artistic skies are sunny with
discovery...The French Overture proceeds with perfect poise...while the
Fantasy and Fugue in A minor is like listening to McIntosh build a palace of
sound...Highly recommended." Craig Smith - The Santa Fe New Mexican

Murat Batmaz of Sea of Tranquility described Mountain Mirrors as the most "beautifully grey" melodies he'd ever heard. The forlorn, contemplative "Stay Evil" kicks things off, followed by the darkly mellow shanty of "The Demon's Eye"?one of the strongest tracks on the album. One thing that's great about Mountain Mirrors is that its shadowy references aren't just some sort of aesthetic choice?they're the genuine vocabulary of an artist who is struggling hard for some sort of truth and inner peace. "Alone In A Crowd" is another standout. It's like "Comfortably Numb" on Lithium. "Deploribus Unum" is great too?autumnal and melancholy and yet not without its own peculiar comforts.
