Toujours l'Amour will tickle your fancy with a bouquet of French Baroque musical delights, both familiar and new, from the courts of the Sun King and Louis XV. Music of the Spheres presents a collection of sweet confections for Baroque violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord, including the popular favorite Sonnerie de Sainte Geneviève du Mont de Paris by Marin Marais, depicting the ringing of church bells.
Bask in works from the court of Sun King Louis XIV, including a violin sonata by Élisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre and a dance suite of colorful character movements by court composer Jean-Féry Rebel.
We hope you will delight in each truffle you take out of the box - some are sweet marzipan, some bittersweet chocolate, and some have surprise centers and may be new treats you've never tasted before!
Description:
a vision inspiring voyage across the diameters of your imagination
A continuation of the series of abstract ambient soundscapes, which took birth with the release of "Portraying The Yellow Sun" (August, 2013; Magnatune), the series' opening piece which climbed the author's modus operandi up to a completely new territory and consequently raised the bar of authenticity to a whole different level. "A Touch Of White" sustains further, evolves, and here it is to provide another whole new experience.
Guitar Music features a blend of technical guitar wizardry and traditional slide techniques whilst retaining strong melodic direction with clear song structures. Nigel's vast array of influences include Joe Satriani, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Derek Trucks, Paul Gilbert, Django Reinhardt and John Scofield.
The album features a strong blues/rock influence although some might say there are also elements of progressive rock and fusion. The instrumental nature of the music means it is not just suitable for the casual rock guitar fan but also those wishing to use music to paint pictures in their minds and connect music with moving image or those who just appreciate a collection of styles presented in an exciting way.
This collection of songs were composed, recorded and produced by Nigel between 2008 and 2013 with all instruments being handled by the man himself with a support from Robert Cochrane who provides drums on five of the eleven tracks - 3, 6, 8, 9 & 10.
"After a remarkable EP, Dayazell is back with a real first LP. Who are Dayazell? A quartet that proposes a talented and free interpretation of ancient World music.
Real passionates, the members of Dayazell seek for old medieval and traditional
repertoire, with no consideration for the frontiers.
They do not stick to the European culture, but take the listener far, far away:
Spanish hymns of praise, Armenian and Mongolian songs, Sephardic and
middle-Eastern music...a Worldwide inspiration.
It's also one of their assets not to confine themselves in a dusty academicism,
but to take liberties with the interpretations of those songs. They're giving
them a new life, while keeping a serious approach as well as excellent technical
skills.
Dayazell invites you to a sophisticated trip around the World. An inner trip
also. I recommend that you embark with them."
