Description:
soft and relaxing ambient piano to soothe your mind
Love is the universal language and the thing that binds us all
together. It comes in many forms and has given me much of my inspiration over the
years. Love is beautiful and can be a difficult feeling to describe.
I hope that my music
does it justice and that anyone who listens will feel what I felt when composing each
song. I dedicate this to my wife because she has stood by my side, encouraging me to
keep writing. Hopefully I am able to express what words cannot describe as I continue on my journey.
This album is dedicated to my strong and beautiful wife. I composed the album over a
span of seven years, encompassing my experiences with personal growth, life, and the
most important is love.

Notes on the songs:
A scattering quantum of light finds that....(1)
.... Like dewdrops we watch this morning sky as it comes by (2) Such shimmering beacons of delight, traveling the distances of our own hearts (4) It's a marvelous journey, to take us safe home (6) ....
... But the thundering night has made its call (3) Man is but a bleeding shadow, to the sea of the light (5) And our shrieks resonate into immensity, longing for the flight (7) ...
Will you join it through the memory of your mind? (8)
John Dowland (1563-1626), an English Renaissance composer, singer and lutenist
was the period's most renowned and significant composer of lute solos, lute
songs (voice and lute) and consort music. His popularity and recognition during
his lifetime appear to be at odds with how he perceived himself. Perhaps he had
a realistic view of his place in the panorama of history. His melancholic lyrics
and music have often been described as his creation of an "artistic persona",
for he was actually known to be a mostly cheerful person.
Dowland composed some 90 works for solo lute, many of which are dance forms.
Melancholy does not dominate this album of Dowland's lute music played on
8-string guitar. The works, instead reflect a variety of moods and settings. It
is said that Dowland was musically influenced by his numerous travels to the
continent and there are instances in his music that sound like glimpses of the
future. In the last 40 seconds of the final track on this album ("A Fancy") one
can hear the tremelo of Francisco Tarrega's famous guitar piece "Recuerdos de la
Alhambra" followed by a pattern similar to the one used by Isaac Albeniz in his
celebrated "Leyenda" (Asturias). Both of these Spanish classics were written
about 300 years after Dowland.
