My apologies for the slowdown in releases in January. We went on a vacation to Thailand, Bali and Hong Kong, and despite our best intentions, only managed one set of new releases in January. To make that up to you, we're releasing more albums than usual today and more in the upcoming weeks.
Water. Tides. The ocean slowly and imperceptibly coming again and again to the shore, bringing light waves over time.
Welcome to the new Snowsleep ambient composition.
Tides consists of three parts, the three tides. Each of these parts is somewhat similar to the other and at the same time
has its own personality. In one part you can hear elements of Post-Rock, another the sound of Pink Floyd's 80s period and in the third audible elements of modern
electronic music.
Throughout the listener experiences a warm sound, and as Tides finally ends it leaves us to contemplate the distant expanses of the ocean and the hope that we will once again return.
Description:
Recreating traditional music from a modern perspective
This album, entitled Cantica, is an unusual mixture of early and Spanish music.
Most pieces include spurious parts - as it were. They are our own compositions
and arrangements, whose purpose is to comment on the pieces from the present
time, holding a conversation with that old music.
The idea is to recreate the music of other times from a modern perspective with
music instruments, connecting both worlds, old and new, mixing sounds from both
of them in the same piece of music. This composition technique is what unifies
our repertoire, making it homogeneous.
The members of La Reverie - musicians with long artistic careers - have
performed with renowned and diverse music groups and institutions, such as the
Symphonic Orchestra of Malaga's Higher Conservatory of Music (Spain), Inocu
(Italy), El Sombrero del Alquimista (Spain) and El Tercer Ojo (Bolivia). Their
music has been heard in various cities and festivals, such as the International
Music Festival in Cadaqués (Girona), the Salón de los Espejos (Hall of Mirrors,
the elegant performance venue in Malaga's Town Hall) or Granada's prestigious
International Festival of Music and Dance.
Burst is an album brimming with beats and soundscapes.
For this third album Red Sky Lullaby dips into a myriad of styles to
create a unique blend of Electronica, Beats, Glitch, Dub Roots and Jazz.
The tracks refuse to cave to repetitiveness and the album as a whole
evolves from style to style in unexpected ways culminating in the jazzy
electronic grooves of the final track Peace Out.
This album is packed with gritty grooves, sensual female vocals, funky bass and
drums and old style keys. A combination of vocal tracks and purely instrumental
tunes inspired by 70's cop show soundtracks and Funk Club music take the
listener back to a time of car chases through litter strewn alleys, Afro
haircuts, purple flairs and smoky bars. So, kick back and enjoy...
Viola da gamba music from 1553 to the present day:
"With this recording I wanted to go back to my original fascination with the 6-
or 7-stringed bass viol. Ever since I first heard the instrument in the early
1990's, I knew that this was the sound that I wanted and I have devoted the
bigger part of my professional life to it. The solo sound of the instrument
especially has always inspired me to no end.
The recording venue was easily selected and actually sparked the recording: the
beautiful chapel of a St. Francis' Convent in my home town of Utrecht. The
brethren, some of whom I have known for many years now, have cooperated in every
possible way. I have prayed with them many times in this chapel and it is a rare
privilege to have been given the opportunity to make this recording in this
sacred place.
The music has more or less selected itself: I wanted to start with some of the
very early viola da gamba music by Ortiz and end with some pieces that
contemporary composers have dedicated to me. And the centuries in between are
covered by the music of much-loved viol composers as Abel, Hume, Forqueray,
Schenck, and of course Marais. It all flowed together naturally: confluentes.
The recording process was very, very simple: my good friend Fritz de With set up
his video and audio equipment and I played every piece a few times. Afterwards,
we just picked what we considered to be the best version. Again: without any
editing. Everything you hear is exactly the way it was played. A rare occurrence
these days!
I gave everything I have in this process, and this is it. I can only hope you
like it."

recording artist Terry "Zapp" Troutman of the group Zapp and Roger.
The Massacre album details frustration, struggle and determination in a music
business that refuses to listen to extreme talent alone, and explodes his heart,

immensely, that it is undeniable.
An arpeggio is a group of notes played in succession, as in a harp - "arpa" in Italian. Like the harp, the lute is an instrument of remarkable beauty, with a rich history and ethereal sound. Both delicate and intense, the lute dominated music and art in Europe from the late 15th C to the late 17th C.
This album is a collection of original lute pieces, taking inspiration from some of the great Renaissance lutenists as well as more modern music to produce something quite unique, and easily enjoyable. Relax, and let it transport you.
