For All Who Suffer
vox, keyboards
The vocals are sometimes heavily layered choral that first came up in a dream of 3 women singing together. In the dream I felt like I'd never be able to come up with things like they were singing, & when I awoke, I laughed at that because it was me. It's very sensually sad feeling to me. It's a love song, a compassion song, a grief dirge, & every good grief dirge can use an Armenian douduk ;-). It's got some bass frequencies that help propel the songs, so I encourage listening with good bass response. Stereo spread is also a nice perspective.
Lyrics:
Wipe away the tears of pain
Let me hear you
Let me see you
Let me hold you
Let me love
I hear your pleading cries
I feel your broken hands
I see your bleeding heart
Hold my hand through this bitter storm
You say you can't go on
You sob into the ground
You wail into the stars
Ah sweet one, we've got you
we'll catch you, we've got you
This world's a living hell
A nightmare that won't awake
The path is fraught with danger
Here's the map, I'll take you through the gate
They'll take your breath away
They'll suck out your life force
They'll hunt you in the darkest night
They'll try to take away your soul
Hold this light within your heart
A gift to light the road ahead
Carry the sacred water of your soul
Let it guide you to love's deep ocean
For all who suffer
I feel you
How It Feels
vox, keyboards
This can be taken literally, or figuratively. I was envisioning a James Bond title when it first came to mind, hence the chromatic 6th movement.
Lyrics
This is how it feels
to die
you can' see it
you can't taste it
you can't hear
Just look the other way
no need to follow me
Just look the other way
there's nothing more to say
There's nothing you can do
this world is killing me
Just walk away
or you can be
Here

Joseph
vox, keyboards, hammered dulcimer
Starting with words attributed to Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce. The song developed from there with me contemplating what it feels like to watch your culture, & your deep connection to Nature get demolished by colonization. Inspired also by John Trudell's discussions about if we all go back far enough into whatever ancestry we come from, we can find our tribes which were violently colonized. I found my ancestral tribes in Druidic Nature based practices. This is For All Our Relations.
Lyrics
I will fight no more forever
I am the forest, I am the trees
I am the birds, I am the bees
I am the sky, I am the breeze
I am the river, I am the sees
