JS Bach Cantatas I - Solo Cantatas by American Bach Soloists American Bach Soloists : JS Bach Cantatas I - Solo Cantatas.
Virtuosic bach performances and more.

Bach's solo cantatas are, in some sense, his only true cantatas, as the term comes from the Italian genre originally devoted to one or two voices. In any case, they offer a more contemplative, informal approach to Bach's religious music—a quality that allows us to hear a more intimate side of the American Bach Soloists on this lilting, beautiful recording. Features stellar vocal performances by counter-tenor Drew Minter (who sounds especially great) as well as bass William Sharp, soprano Julianne Baird, and tenor/Artistic Director Jeffrey Thomas.
