Kedarika - Nada Yoga (Volume 1) by Amelia Cuni and Werner Durand Amelia Cuni and Werner Durand : Kedarika - Nada Yoga (Volume 1).
Experimental winds meets indian classical.

After 30 years of involvement with the tradition of dhrupad music, rooted in the yoga of Sound (nada yoga) and honouring the principle of SOUND AS AGENT OF CREATION (nada brahma), Amelia and Werner were looking for ways to bring to the foreground these basic, fundamental issues in their music.

They believe people who practise yoga or similar disciplines deserve a music that is sprouting from the ancient wisdom of Indian philosophy and its symbolic thinking. To achieve this goal effectively, they work on essential elements and ideals in the singing and in the presentation. Thus, conducing the listener to a meditative state and inner harmony by following the directions perfected by generations of Indian artists and mystics.

Kedarika is conceived for deep relaxation and may be used as support for yoga, meditation or massage. The music is based on raga Kedar (a night melody) and the knowledge of nada yoga as inherited by the dhrupad tradition of singing.

Ragini KEDARIKA has been described as follows in the ancient texts:
...a rare book in her hand, she sits, beautifuly dressed in front of the temple of Shiva, Lord of Sleep. (Raga-sagara)
...her mind is immersed in contemplation of the Lord of Sleep... (Sangita-darpana)

Amelia Cuni: vocals, tanpura
Werner Durand: drones, sound design

(Werner does not play any wind instrument here, but has elaborated the tanpura sounds into a drone)
