The Headroom Project : Ciri a Doro.
Vivid world-electronica grooves.
Andreas Ecker delivers another batch of his incredibly charismatic, unique take on world music, here conceived as a sleek, futuristic mash-up of imaginary languages layered over mid-tempo electronic beats and jazz-tinged melodies. Artists making this kind of music typically cite bands like Dead Can Dance and Delirium as influences, but Ecker says his run more along the lines of King Crimson, Frank Zappa, and Peter Gabriel. You can really hear the humor and crazy energy of these influences in the music, which sounds like the lost soundtrack to The Fifth Element. A groovy, surprising album—full of exotic flavor and vivid atmospheres. Listen for the fantastic bass performance by Ecker too.
