Verbal Bandit by Heifervescent Heifervescent : Verbal Bandit.
Shimmering indie guitar pop with orchestral moments.

Verbal Bandit has a slightly more folky feel in parts than the other Heifervescent albums. Songs are about real life and the strange situations that you find yourself in set to very melodic indie pop tunes, with an abundance of guitars - acoustic and electric.

Golden Gun is the opening track - a 60s style rhythm with a slight country lead guitar, the song tells tales of the paranoid thoughts of closet hypochondriac. Strings and vocal harmonies give the song depth and charm.

Wishbone has more of big ambient chorus with swirling strings and harmonies, but quickly dips into mysterious verses and lyrics that contrast the feeling of optimism and hope with all the negative things that are occurring.

Northern Casanova tells the tale of a hapless love affair. Although everything goes wrong, the song speaks to the ex-lover about the side they never saw. Acoustics, harps, strings and french horns bring the story to life.

Run while you've still got your legs describes being at the end of your tether, in a no win situation, where it's ok to take the easy way out through the back door. A sweeping ballad with big symphonic strings and gentle acoustics.

Strange kind of fiction tells the twisted story of couple who think their sex life is over. So the man phones a sex chatline and recognises the female voice as his wife. A country/folk style track with a twist.

Fabricated Loony Commune describes a scary big brother world where nothing is private, everybody knows everything about everybody. The songs retains its pop melody but the track has quite an eerie ominous feel.

The Suspect List once again deals with the subject of paranoia, but this time, it's deeply paranoid man that thinks everybody wants to kill him. An indie guitar style fused with a slight latin chord structure.

Yesterday's News closes the album, and is a folky acoustic track that tackles how to move on in life when it seems like your best days are behind you. The mix slowly builds up as more instruments are introduced.
