Jeremy Moyer : Chinese Bicycle Stories.
Erhu music bridging eastern, western, contemporary and folk traditions.
Chinese Bicycle Stories is a poetic musical journey using the language of Chinese musical instruments and folk traditions. All the music is composed and performed by Jeremy Moyer. On this album he plays Chinese 3-stringed banjo - Qinqin (秦琴), Erhu (二胡), Gaohu (高胡), Taiwanese Coconut Shell Fiddle - Kezi Xian (殼子弦), Cantonese Coconut Shell Fiddle - Yehu (椰胡),Sanxian (三弦), Guitar, Percussion and Kalimba. There are guest performances by Kevin Ramessar on Guitar, Shawn Mativetsky on Tabla and Renaud Gay on Flute. The album was recorded in Shanghai.
