bachconnections by Jonathan Freeman-Attwood and Colm Carey Jonathan Freeman-Attwood and Colm Carey : bachconnections.
Dazzling and luminous duo performances of bach.

'Bach Connections' celebrates the kaleidoscopic art of Johann Sebastian Bach in an invigorating recital of concerto movements, chorale preludes and fantasias. Framed by two exceptionally ebullient concerto allegros, the programme neatly juxtaposes Bach's mentor Buxtehude with a distinguished 19th-century performer-composer (Sigfrid Karg-Elert), alongside a famous re-working of a Venetian work (Alessandro Marcello) and a supremely lyrical essay by a highly-regarded student of Bach's (Johan LudwigKrebs). The modern transcriber-performer finds his own peculiar connection with J.S. Bach in original new repertoire for the thrilling combination of organ and trumpet. In the words of Gramophone, 'the present disc can hardly be bettered'.
