 Huge ambient compositions..

Appealingly low-key, Music for Modern Listening is Stargarden's most cosmpolitan and groove-oriented work to date. "Mural" gets things off to a nicely urbane start with it's crushed beats and subtle, vespertine tones, and Bobby DeVito follows this up with "Perdido"--a great juxtaposition of blurry bells with delicately eccentric rhythms. We also really like the suave bass and artfully textured synths of "Termoli" as well as the sultry sounding "Rutile." This album may lean slightly away from the space music sound for which Stargarden is known, but it can be good to come back down to earth every now and then, and Music for Modern Listening proves just how great Stargarden sounds back on good ol' terra firma.
