Emavision: The sound of trees falling between east n' west.

Emavision is a musical collective formed by Evan Chen and Ma Shangyou, based in Beijing, China.

Evan Chen, is a keyboardist, composer, producer who spent 18 years abroad, studying with masters like, William Kraft and Steven Sondheim. He worked in theatre, opera, film and TV.

Ma Shangyou, a music producer and multi- instrumentalist, grew up in Xinjiang Province and performed around China for years.

Facing the fall of music business model, they see the true meaning of their music making. Together, they built a studio in a village outside of the city, so they can groove at night and dream in the light. They travel to remote regions of China, searching for the songs and words that are forgotten by the cities.

The music they are making interweaves the ambience of Chinese ethnic sounds with the world of acoustic, electro beats. It's from China but not for yoga or meditation. The love for their tradition doesn't stir fear in their creative process. They believe only through transformation the wealth of their culture can be enjoyed widely by the people in the world.
