of our best-loved Christmas melodies.\n\nOn Modern Carols, Mike blends his trademark electronic edge and innovation with the fun, warmth and nostalgia of the holiday season, to create a genuinely unique festive sound, and an album that's the perfect fit for an alternative Christmas experience.\n\nTraditional seasonal favourites are given an up-to-date twist, with arrangements that take inspiration from across the broad church of today's electronic and alternative sounds.\n\nFrom a playful, toybox-orchestra re-telling of 'Joy to the World', to a Mark-Ronson-style big beat rendition of 'We Three Kings'; from a pulsing, ambient take on medieval choral song 'Coventry Carol', to a dream-like 'Silent Night' arranged for piano, double bass and tape loops, this is an adventurous, imaginative and thoroughly modern Christmas album.\n\nPerfect for anyone looking for something a bit different in their seasonal listening.", "release_date" : "2015-12-03", "genres" :
