The band's goal is to make internationally competitive music without any kind of restrictions or preconceptions, and to create something genuine and special in these times of superficial recycled entertainment. All the solutions in their music are not necessarily always by the book and they shouldn't have to be. Grungy vocals and monster metal riffs mixed with plenty of catchy hooks and beautiful melodies will keep you wanting more.\n\nLyrics tell real stories of life, death, love, betrayal, hate, violence, addiction and alienation in a world that seems more and more chaotic every day. Man's compulsive need to destroy himself and everything surrounding him never seizes to amuse.\n\nIn March 2007 the band took a creative break from live shows, and started writing and recording material for their debut album: \"controlled chaos\". Almost a year passed (9 months to be exact) until it was time to break the silence with an explosion. chILL's 11-song debut album was recorded by Miska Rautiainen at the band's own \"Twisted Studios\" and was mixed by Finnish Sami Koivisto at Biotech Audio Solutions (Koivisto has mixed many Finnish bands like \"Waltari\", \"Nicole\", \"Deathbound\" and \"Havoc Unit\").\n\nchILL is something entirely different. Hate it or love it, just try to keep an open mind.\n\nFor more on chILL visit their own website and MySpace page.", "photo" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/img/chill.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/chill/", "albums" : [{ "sku" : "chill-chaosnv", "name" : "Controlled Chaos (vocals removed)", "artist" : { "name" : "chILL", "page" : "chill" }, "release_date" : "2026-10-20", "genres" : ["Hard Rock","Metal"], "vocals" : "vocals removed", "moods" : ["aggressive","tense","dramatic","dark","energetic","gritty"], "uses" : ["trailer","sports or action","gaming","film score","horror or thriller","emotional storytelling"], "energy" : 5, "instrumentation" : ["monster metal riffs","grungy vocals","driving drums","catchy rock melodies"], "sounds_like" : [], "summary" : "Grunge-driven rock mixed with modern metal featuring intense riffs, grungy vocals, and real-life lyrical themes; ideal for high-energy trailers, action scenes, or dramatic storytelling.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/chILL/Controlled%20Chaos%20(vocals%20removed)/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/chill-chaosnv/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/chill-chaosnv", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=chill-chaosnv" },{ "sku" : "chill-chaos", "name" : "Controlled Chaos", "artist" : { "name" : "chILL", "page" : "chill" }, "release_date" : "2010-05-22", "genres" : ["Hard Rock","Metal"], "vocals" : "vocals", "moods" : ["aggressive","tense","dramatic","dark","energetic","gritty"], "uses" : ["trailer","sports or action","gaming","film score","horror or thriller","emotional storytelling"], "energy" : 5, "instrumentation" : ["monster metal riffs","grungy vocals","driving drums","catchy rock melodies"], "sounds_like" : [], "summary" : "Grunge-driven rock mixed with modern metal featuring intense riffs, grungy vocals, and real-life lyrical themes; ideal for high-energy trailers, action scenes, or dramatic storytelling.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/chILL/Controlled%20Chaos/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/chill-chaos/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/chill-chaos", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=chill-chaos" }] }, "license" : { "music_license" : "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 1.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 1.0)", "music_license_url" : "https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/1.0/", "listening" : "Stream the free previews, or buy an album for $8 to download it in MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, OGG or WAV. 100% of the price goes to the musician.", "non_commercial" : "Non-commercial projects may use the music under CC BY-NC-SA 1.0: credit the artist and Magnatune, and share alike.", "projects" : "Magnatune members may use any Magnatune music in their projects, commercial or not (videos, films, podcasts, games, apps, websites, adverts), including work for clients, under the Magnatune Project Licence.
