By crafting every aspect of their sound and vision they remain one of the few left willing to work on high art as concept.\n\nTheir latest record 'Truth' features 6 songs of pure devotion mixed by 4AD alumnus John Fryer (NIN Depeche Mode). This follows months after their last release 'Pale Fire' featuring the epic title track mixed by Ulrich Schnuss (Coldplay, Mojave 3).\n\nOriginally formed in 2006 by lead vocalist and guitarist LG, he is joined by Ana B (guitar) Christo B. (guitar, keys) and J. Parker (drums). The group brings a complete visual landscape to their live shows by always being backed by projections.\n\nDead Leaf Echo is currently in the studio recording their 1st LP with Producer John Fryer (NIN, Depeche Mode). It's being recorded at The Mission Sound which has recorded some of music's biggest acts. Before it's release their 3rd EP will come out this spring. It will consists of Remixes and Collaborations. You can find the band on tour this spring and at SXSW.\n\n\"Some of the best live music in the city.\"\n- Time Out, New York\n\n\"We like Dead Leaf Echo's dreamy shoegazing pop\"\n- The L Magazine\n\n\"A post-Romantic approach to music, fashion even New York City itself... is the kind of wisdom Robert Smith masterfully conjured in his youth\"\n- The Deli Magazine\n\nYou can also find out more about their up and coming shows on their website and follow them on facebook and twitter.", "photo" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/img/dead_leaf_echo.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/dead_leaf_echo/", "albums" : [{ "sku" : "dle-palefirenv", "name" : "Pale Fire (vocals removed)", "artist" : { "name" : "Dead Leaf Echo", "page" : "dead_leaf_echo" }, "release_date" : "2026-10-20", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Darkwave"], "vocals" : "vocals removed", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Dead%20Leaf%20Echo/Pale%20Fire%20(vocals%20removed)/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/dle-palefirenv/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/dle-palefirenv", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=dle-palefirenv" },{ "sku" : "dle-truthnv", "name" : "Truth (vocals removed)", "artist" : { "name" : "Dead Leaf Echo", "page" : "dead_leaf_echo" }, "release_date" : "2026-10-20", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Darkwave"], "vocals" : "vocals removed", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Dead%20Leaf%20Echo/Truth%20(vocals%20removed)/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/dle-truthnv/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/dle-truthnv", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=dle-truthnv" },{ "sku" : "dle-truth", "name" : "Truth", "artist" : { "name" : "Dead Leaf Echo", "page" : "dead_leaf_echo" }, "release_date" : "2011-08-14", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Darkwave"], "vocals" : "vocals", "moods" : ["dreamy","ethereal","melancholic","reflective","mysterious","dark"], "uses" : ["emotional storytelling","documentary","podcast background","art or gallery","meditation or yoga","film score"], "energy" : 2, "instrumentation" : ["shoegaze guitars","ambient textures","baroque-inspired arrangements","vocal-driven","synths"], "sounds_like" : [], "summary" : "Dreamy, ethereal shoegaze-pop with ambient and Baroque elements, ideal for reflective, atmospheric, or emotionally resonant video and podcast projects.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Dead%20Leaf%20Echo/Truth/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/dle-truth/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/dle-truth", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=dle-truth" },{ "sku" : "dle-palefire", "name" : "Pale Fire", "artist" : { "name" : "Dead Leaf Echo", "page" : "dead_leaf_echo" }, "release_date" : "2011-04-06", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Darkwave"], "vocals" : "vocals", "moods" : ["dreamy","ethereal","melancholic","reflective","mysterious","dark"], "uses" : ["podcast background","emotional storytelling","art or gallery","meditation or yoga","documentary","film score"], "energy" : 2, "instrumentation" : ["synths","layered guitars","atmospheric textures","male vocals","ambient elements"], "sounds_like" : ["Mojave 3","Coldplay (early)","Cocteau Twins"], "summary" : "Dreamy, ethereal shoegaze-pop with ambient and Baroque influences, ideal for reflective, atmospheric podcast backgrounds and emotional storytelling.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Dead%20Leaf%20Echo/Pale%20Fire/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/dle-palefire/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/dle-palefire", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=dle-palefire" }] }, "license" : { "music_license" : "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 1.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 1.0)", "music_license_url" : "https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/1.0/", "listening" : "Stream the free previews, or buy an album for $8 to download it in MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, OGG or WAV. 100% of the price goes to the musician.", "non_commercial" : "Non-commercial projects may use the music under CC BY-NC-SA 1.0: credit the artist and Magnatune, and share alike.", "projects" : "Magnatune members may use any Magnatune music in their projects, commercial or not (videos, films, podcasts, games, apps, websites, adverts), including work for clients, under the Magnatune Project Licence.
