Having dedicated himself to the exploration of acoustic guitar technique, Maneli has developed his own sound. Folk, Flamenco, and Persian modes combine with his own percussive technique creating a rich and unique voice on the guitar.\n\nPersian by blood and raised in Germany, Maneli moved to the States in his adolescence, immigrating to Minnesota before relocating to Austin, Texas until his late teens. At this time, his family was issued a letter of deportation by the immigration office, and were forced to claim refuge in Canada within thirty days of receiving the notice. Taking literally only what they could fit in their hands, Maneli arrived in Toronto with his guitar which has scarcely left his hands since.\n\nHaving lived in 4 different countries and moved 20 times by the time he was 18, Maneli has let his experiences around the world influence the way he speaks with the guitar.\n\nManeli received first place in the online YouTube acoustic guitar competition for Taylor guitars and Faith Guitars, placed in the finals for Guitar Idol 2009, has released his debut album featuring 14 tracks of all original compositions, and is endorsed by Cole Clark guitars.", "photo" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/img/maneli_jamal.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/maneli_jamal/", "albums" : [{ "sku" : "mjamal-mardommove", "name" : "The Mardom Movement", "artist" : { "name" : "Maneli Jamal", "page" : "maneli_jamal" }, "release_date" : "2020-11-21", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","New Age","Instrumental New Age","Instrumental Rock"], "vocals" : "instrumental", "moods" : ["inspiring","reflective","hopeful","playful","exotic","warm"], "uses" : ["travel","documentary","podcast background","emotional storytelling","slideshow or memories","cafe or restaurant"], "energy" : 3, "instrumentation" : ["acoustic guitar","collaborative instrumental ensembles","solo guitar compositions"], "sounds_like" : [], "summary" : "An inspiring, globally influenced acoustic guitar album with collaborative instrumental pieces and solo works, ideal for travel content, documentaries, and reflective podcast backgrounds.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Maneli%20Jamal/The%20Mardom%20Movement/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/mjamal-mardommove/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/mjamal-mardommove", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=mjamal-mardommove" },{ "sku" : "mjamal-lamajmove", "name" : "The Lamaj Movement", "artist" : { "name" : "Maneli Jamal", "page" : "maneli_jamal" }, "release_date" : "2013-06-04", "genres" : ["World","New Age","Instrumental New Age"], "vocals" : "instrumental", "moods" : ["reflective","nostalgic","hopeful","peaceful","inspiring","melancholic"], "uses" : ["documentary","emotional storytelling","travel","podcast background","meditation or yoga","slideshow or memories"], "energy" : 3, "instrumentation" : ["acoustic guitar","instrumental","world-infused melodies"], "sounds_like" : [], "summary" : "An acoustic guitar-driven instrumental world/New Age album evoking a reflective, nostalgic journey across continents—ideal for documentaries, travel stories, and emotional storytelling.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Maneli%20Jamal/The%20Lamaj%20Movement/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/mjamal-lamajmove/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/mjamal-lamajmove", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=mjamal-lamajmove" },{ "sku" : "mjamal-ziurmove", "name" : "The Ziur Movement", "artist" : { "name" : "Maneli Jamal", "page" : "maneli_jamal" }, "release_date" : "2011-05-28", "genres" : ["World","New Age","Instrumental New Age"], "vocals" : "instrumental", "moods" : ["romantic","tender","peaceful","reflective","dreamy","spiritual"], "uses" : ["romance","meditation or yoga","spa or massage","study or focus","podcast background","emotional storytelling"], "energy" : 2, "instrumentation" : ["acoustic guitar","persian setar","solo guitar"], "sounds_like" : [], "summary" : "A serene, romantic solo acoustic guitar album with Persian and classical influences, ideal for calm, reflective, or intimate audiovisual projects.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Maneli%20Jamal/The%20Ziur%20Movement/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/mjamal-ziurmove/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/mjamal-ziurmove", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=mjamal-ziurmove" }] }, "license" : { "music_license" : "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 1.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 1.0)", "music_license_url" : "https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/1.0/", "listening" : "Stream the free previews, or buy an album for $8 to download it in MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, OGG or WAV. 100% of the price goes to the musician.", "non_commercial" : "Non-commercial projects may use the music under CC BY-NC-SA 1.0: credit the artist and Magnatune, and share alike.", "projects" : "Magnatune members may use any Magnatune music in their projects, commercial or not (videos, films, podcasts, games, apps, websites, adverts), including work for clients, under the Magnatune Project Licence.
