His musical tastes soon branched out, thanks to mix tapes that arrived in the post after collecting tokens from overly sugared breakfast cereal packets.\n\nHe has since composed five albums of thoughtful and gently experimental folk music which have been streamed over 5m times on Jamendo, winning him fans as far away as Brazil, Korea and Russia. His music has ended up in a cult Korean gay movie, a French TV comedy series and other suitably random locations.\n\nRobin has graced the boards of Cecil Sharpe House, Hebden Bridge Trade's Club and The Union Chapel, sharing stages with Kate Tempest, Peggy Seeger, Ed Sheeran and Sam Lee along the way.\n\nWith other hats on, Robin devised and performs a show called 'Three Acres And A Cow', teaching people about English radical history through folk songs; has been undertaking musical cycling pilgrimages under the rubric of 'Pedal Folk' and also infamously serenaded David Cameron during the 2015 general election, which won him praise from Ian Hislop and Charlie Brooker plus less flattering attention from Guido Fawkes.", "photo" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/img/robin_grey_new.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/robin_grey/", "albums" : [{ "sku" : "robin-groundup", "name" : "From The Ground Up", "artist" : { "name" : "Robin Grey", "page" : "robin_grey" }, "release_date" : "2022-10-14", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Folk-Rock","Folk"], "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Robin%20Grey/From%20The%20Ground%20Up/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/robin-groundup/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/robin-groundup", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=robin-groundup" },{ "sku" : "robin-morethan", "name" : "More Than Today", "artist" : { "name" : "Robin Grey", "page" : "robin_grey" }, "release_date" : "2015-04-15", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Folk-Rock","Folk"], "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Robin%20Grey/More%20Than%20Today/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/robin-morethan/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/robin-morethan", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=robin-morethan" },{ "sku" : "robin-nearestd", "name" : "The Nearest Door", "artist" : { "name" : "Robin Grey", "page" : "robin_grey" }, "release_date" : "2011-12-05", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Folk-Rock","Folk"], "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Robin%20Grey/The%20Nearest%20Door/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/robin-nearestd/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/robin-nearestd", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=robin-nearestd" },{ "sku" : "robin-silent", "name" : "Silent footsteps", "artist" : { "name" : "Robin Grey", "page" : "robin_grey" }, "release_date" : "2010-09-04", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Folk","Folk-Rock"], "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Robin%20Grey/Silent%20footsteps/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/robin-silent/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/robin-silent", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=robin-silent" },{ "sku" : "robin-missile", "name" : "Only the Missile", "artist" : { "name" : "Robin Grey", "page" : "robin_grey" }, "release_date" : "2010-04-24", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Folk","Folk-Rock"], "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Robin%20Grey/Only%20the%20Missile/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/robin-missile/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/robin-missile", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=robin-missile" },{ "sku" : "robin-stranger", "name" : "Strangers With Shoes", "artist" : { "name" : "Robin Grey", "page" : "robin_grey" }, "release_date" : "2010-03-05", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Folk-Rock","Folk"], "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/Robin%20Grey/Strangers%20With%20Shoes/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/robin-stranger/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/robin-stranger", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=robin-stranger" }] }, "license" : { "music_license" : "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 1.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 1.0)", "music_license_url" : "https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/1.0/", "listening" : "Stream the free previews, or buy an album for $8 to download it in MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, OGG or WAV. 100% of the price goes to the musician.", "non_commercial" : "Non-commercial projects may use the music under CC BY-NC-SA 1.0: credit the artist and Magnatune, and share alike.", "projects" : "Magnatune members may use any Magnatune music in their projects, commercial or not (videos, films, podcasts, games, apps, websites, adverts), including work for clients, under the Magnatune Project Licence.
