His interest in the arts began at a young age with visual arts. At the age of 8 he began seriously studying drawing and painting and by early teens was selling his work to collectors.\n\nAfter years of perfecting a visual style, he realized that music was the obvious next step. He jumped in full force, approaching music as he would a painting, layering sounds and melodies as he did with color and texture.\n\nTaylor feels he brings the same passion, dedication, and creativity he puts into his paintings to music. Whilst always extremely passionate about music, he only first started experimenting with making his own at about the age of twelve. Soon thereafter joining his first band, playing bass guitar and keyboards, he quickly branched out to singing and playing any other instruments he could get his hands on.\n\nHe first entered the recording studio at fifteen, the same age that he had started seriously writing his own music and has been in love with the entire process ever since. After creating music on his own and honing an individual style of indie electro-pop songwriting for several years, Taylor met Nashville musician and producer Giles Reeves. They worked together on Giallo, an EP that was a mix of sunshine pop melodies, thoughtful lyrics, prominent percussion, electro synths, and acoustic instrumentation.\n\nTaylor is currently finishing production of a full length album under the artist name Foreign Fix.", "photo" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/img/ts_hartley.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/ts_hartley/", "albums" : [{ "sku" : "tshartley-giallonv", "name" : "Giallo (vocals removed)", "artist" : { "name" : "TS Hartley", "page" : "ts_hartley" }, "release_date" : "2026-10-23", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Pop"], "vocals" : "vocals removed", "moods" : ["uplifting","playful","energetic","hypnotic","quirky"], "uses" : ["vlog","podcast background","advertising","corporate","tech or product demo","party or club"], "energy" : 5, "instrumentation" : ["sunshine guitars","hypnotic electronics","dance floor beats","sing-along vocals"], "sounds_like" : [], "summary" : "High-energy sunshine pop with catchy vocals, retro-futuristic electronics, and danceable beats—ideal for upbeat, modern media projects needing vibrant, original background music.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/TS%20Hartley/Giallo%20(vocals%20removed)/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/tshartley-giallonv/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/tshartley-giallonv", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=tshartley-giallonv" },{ "sku" : "tshartley-giallo", "name" : "Giallo", "artist" : { "name" : "TS Hartley", "page" : "ts_hartley" }, "release_date" : "2011-09-11", "genres" : ["Alt Rock","Pop"], "vocals" : "vocals", "moods" : ["uplifting","playful","energetic","hypnotic","quirky"], "uses" : ["vlog","podcast background","advertising","corporate","tech or product demo","party or club"], "energy" : 5, "instrumentation" : ["sunshine guitars","hypnotic electronics","dance floor beats","sing-along vocals"], "sounds_like" : [], "summary" : "High-energy sunshine pop with catchy vocals, retro-futuristic electronics, and danceable beats—ideal for upbeat, modern media projects needing vibrant, original background music.", "cover" : "https://magnatune.com/music/TS%20Hartley/Giallo/cover_400.jpg", "web_url" : "https://magnatune.com/artists/albums/tshartley-giallo/", "api_url" : "https://magnatune.com/api/albums/tshartley-giallo", "buy_url" : "https://magnatune.com/buy/album?sku=tshartley-giallo" }] }, "license" : { "music_license" : "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 1.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 1.0)", "music_license_url" : "https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/1.0/", "listening" : "Stream the free previews, or buy an album for $8 to download it in MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, OGG or WAV. 100% of the price goes to the musician.", "non_commercial" : "Non-commercial projects may use the music under CC BY-NC-SA 1.0: credit the artist and Magnatune, and share alike.", "projects" : "Magnatune members may use any Magnatune music in their projects, commercial or not (videos, films, podcasts, games, apps, websites, adverts), including work for clients, under the Magnatune Project Licence.
