The Door by dammerson vaughan dammerson vaughan : The Door.
Atmospheric, evocative, film-y instrumentals.

For the follow-up to my debut album Overnight Low I wanted to do something a little less ambient and more aggressive. I recorded a ton of material over the past three years and only a small portion has made it to "the door".

As a composer I'm compelled to vary my sounds and moods so that my music isn't easily categorized. This is both a blessing and curse. It's hard to connect with an audience when the artist keeps changing, but that's what I must do.

The Door is a collection of tracks that reflect my growing command of digital music production and equipment. It's more diverse sonically and contains some very sophisticated sonic effects. What is "the door"? That's going to remain a mystery because it's a mystery to me as well. I suppose I like the imagery of a portal...you enter and where you end up on the other side is quite different. I'd like to think that I've landed in a different place as I created this album and I hope you find some meaning in it as well.
