Black Cow by Jacob Heringman Jacob Heringman : Black Cow.
Renaissance lute.

Consists mainly of works by the great 16th-century Transylvanian lutenist and composer, Valentin (Balint) Bakfark, interspersed with Polish dances by his Prussian contemporary, Matthaeus Waissel. Full of variety, contrasting moods and breathtaking virtuosity, this CD shows that lute music has the power to move a modern audience as much as it could a renaissance one.

Recorded 15-16 December 1998 in Wiltshire, UK
Recording engineer: David Singleton
Assistant engineer: Alex Mundy
Post-production by Adrian Hunter

Lute made in New York in 1997 by Andrew Rutherford, after Gerle (c1580).
