Gambomania by Ralph Rousseau Meulenbroeks Ralph Rousseau Meulenbroeks : Gambomania.
Virtuoso viola da gamba.

When Ralph Rousseau Meulenbroeks released his first album, he was taken by surprise at the extraordinarily warm welcome it received. A well known Dutch music critic even coined the term "Gambomaniac" to desribe Meulenbroeks' passion for the instrument, and since then the artist has received numerous requests for a follow-up album. Gambomania is that album, and it features works by Hume, Marais, Abel, D'Hervelois, and Schenck. It's a richly resonant instrumental recording of Meulenbroeks' solo playing, and it makes apparent why Meulenbroeks' releationship with this instrument is sometimes likened to a "love affair." Sensitive, passionate, dynamic.
