Canarios I by Poeticall Musicke Poeticall Musicke : Canarios I.
Late renaissance and early baroque music, historically performed.

This triple disc set of works by William Byrd and Johannes Hieronymus Kapsberger is a treasure-trove of rarely performed pieces. Solo organ and theorbo music intertwined with spontaneously improvised preludes and occasional ground-bass-duets. The albums provide a rare insight into the similarities between the Italian and English styles at the turn of the seventeenth century. Poeticall Musicke present the first volume here of three.
