Hands Up by Nigel Martin Nigel Martin : Hands Up.
Quality guitar driven instrumental music.

Hands Up is Dr. Nigel Martin's latest album release and features seven full-length instrumental tracks that are the culmination of writing over a period of roughly two years. This album showcases a jazzier and more experimental sound compared to previous releases and is influenced by a range of artists including Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, John Scofield and Joe Satriani. The opening track Thinking Space incorporates an irregular time signature and spacey pitch-altering effects with a jazzy bass groove. Three of a Kind combines funky bass playing with an uplifting guitar-driven chorus. Heatwave showcases a strong blues-rock sound with gospel influences and hummable melodies. The fourth track Reverie is a laid-back instrumental built upon Latin Jazz sounds and clean electric guitar harmonies. Feelings in Ink is a memorable, emotive and uplifting rock ballad played finger style and followed by the experimental First Contact with its delay effects and tape-based reverse sounds. Finally the album closer and jazz-rock track Groove Injection builds to a climatic guitar solo and features highly characteristic and vocal-esque melodies in the chorus section.
