Ostara by Skarazula Skarazula : Ostara.
Medieval european, turkish and arabic music.

Half of the music on Ostara comes from medieval Europe between the 13th and 16th century and the other half are originals inspired by this great era composed by two members of Skarazula. All of the stringed instruments that you hear on the album were made by the luthier of the group except the psaltery, which was made by the percussionist, and the ud which comes from Turkey.

Ostara is Skarazula's first album and is an homage to the pagan spring equinox festivities of ancient times. The name comes from the Teutonic spring goddess "Eastre", that later became Easter in English.
