Ensemble Vermillian : Stolen Jewels.
Richly textured 17th and 18th century cello and recorder.
Ensemble Vermillian's chamber music is so graceful, and well recorded that listening to it is nearly a visual experience. On Stolen Jewels, Frances Blaker's fresh arrangements of six highly regarded Baroque composers are shot through with bright, golden threads of cello, harpsichord, recorder, viola da gamba, and organ. It's a richly textured work, but always light on its feet. Full liner notes included with download!
