Beth Quist: Electro-Balkan/Indian meets Rock and New Age.

It was Beth Quist who inspired me to create Magnatune. Over dinner 8 years ago, I learned of her 4 octave voice, of her singing on a top-10 worldwide hit by "Delirium", and sadly of her struggles to get paid by the music stores that carried her 3 self-released CDs. She declared that she was no longer going to distribute CD to the public, because the fight with the industry just wasn't worth it. I was depressed to learn that such a talented person might vanish from our culture.
Happily, when Magnatune launched, we found an audience for Beth's music. She was our top seller for our first 3 years.
It's been 7 years since her previous solo album, and she's wrapped up her stint at Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. They had to redo the show's music when she left, as they couldn't find another singer who had her range, and the stage music had been written to her abilities. She's also toured with Bobby McFerrin and played Carnegie Hall with him.
As with her previous albums, Beth sings and plays virtually all the instruments. She jumps and blurs genres, from Rock and Electronic to Balkan, Indian and New Age, always with virtuosic ability.
