Cohesion of latin dancefloor nostalgia and jazzy soulful house with strong afro influence and occasional electro elements and progressive departures.
This excellent caffeine substitute consist of drum loops recorded on a producer's assortment of acoustic and electric percussion instruments, funky keyboard licks, analogue synth riffs and retro disco guitars.
A unique brand of upbeat, danceable music that quickly become anthems. Gold. Who could have predicted the magnitude of a phenomenon known as "retro 80s"?
The songs were written in a six-month period in 2010 and roughly in the order they appear on the album. The album was recorded at Producer Jeff Carter's studio in Guelph Ontario. The music video for the first single "You Light Up" was filmed in Toronto Ontario. The cover for the CD features a picture of Sandy Horne and Gordon Deppe and numerous symbols and signs including morse code, circuit diagrams, and even hieroglyphics. Fans who purchased the album were challenged to find secret codes that would unlock two additional bonus downloads on the band's official website.
Static in Transmission is the 8th studio album by the Canadian New Wave band Spoons. Released in early 2011 on CD and iTunes it is their first album of new material in 23 years since 1988's Vertigo Tango.
This album contains original instrumental compositions of classical music
transcribed and arranged for solo clarinet. Structure and schemes in an
excellent melodious style, brilliant and clear sounds.
Ideas touch us on all levels from the dramatic to convincing gentleness. The
pieces bear the hand of the performer and we listen in an atmosphere of dream
and deep emotion where our fantasy festively unites with its need for harmony
and beauty.
Description:
A journey into the deep, beyond the bounds of ambient music
"In vitro I and II" are compositions created from different moments from the past few years. They were gathered in order to search for a sound that can reach beyond the usual genres new age, ambient or electronic, with the pseudospiritual-relaxing stereotypes that this kind of music often brings.
With these albums I mean to adventure into the realms of deep psyche, touching the mental strings buried somewhere inside of all of us.
Boston-based independent electronic rock artist Psycliq has returned once again
with an incredibly diverse and powerful album, "The Cure for Chaos Theory". Four
years in the making, this seventeen track album contains over an hour of new,
original music and is the most ambitious work from Psycliq to date. While
focusing on electronic elements more than ever before, the project encompasses a
number of different genres, as has come to be expected from this artist, and the
production quality is the highest to date.
Somewhat of a concept album without the overtones of a pretentious drama club,
"The Cure for Chaos Theory" brings the listener on a journey of emotions and
places like none other. From the driving energy of opening track "The Theory",
through the cacophonous racket of "The Chaos", to the final placid strains of
"The Cure" (punctuated with real HAM radio recordings received from a NASA
engineer), this album has much to show you if you're willing to come along for
the ride. The three-piece suite "It's Meant To Be" is spread throughout the
album, offering instrumental punctuation to the process. "Her Ice-Lit Walk"
paints a haunting contrast of calm and chaos, while "Rewire" offers a stuttering
technological jump. "Perilous Opportunity" and "Snowrunner" both explode with
walls of audio, while the plaintive "Sad, I Could Have Made You Queen Of The
Seas" paints a picture of acquiescent regret. And for the first time ever,
"Brushwork" features a stellar guest vocal performance by the immensely talented
Jon Wiltzen.
Psycliq has upped the ante with this project, and there's no telling where this
artist can go from here.
Awesome extra album material available if you download the artwork in this album.
Calm and mysterious Ambient / New Age soundscapes, ethereal atmospheres, infinite landscapes and fantastic inner worlds. By subjecting into luminous energy flowing along with the music from this album, you will find the Peace and Harmony, Joy and Innocence, Bliss and Happiness... and you'll find infinite stillness.
Amazing compilation of background music for relaxation, meditation, healing and sleep.

Episode 6: Mr. Bentwhistle's Brand New Bass Gear
In his bedsit just off the Leicester ring road Ron is rooting through the
kitchen cupboard for something vaguely appetising when he pulls out a naked
action man claiming to be Satan. As he thinks to himself "Well it's finally
happened", Satan offers Ron one wish in return for his immortal soul. After
making the deal to become the best bass player in the East Midlands, Ron retires
to bed hoping to feel better in the morning. When every week the Leicester
Mercury brings news of yet another local bass player dying in unusual
circumstances Ron begins to believe he hadn't been hallucinating after all and
orders some new bass equipment.
On the album "Over Seven Seas" Koshanin blends musical traditions from the Balkans and
Mediterranean with contemporary Western music styles. Music on this album
features original solo piano compositions and unique piano arrangements of
traditional folk tunes.
Koshanin treats piano as a modern-day folk instrument
and creates music that resonate with the subtle sounds of ancient world,
disguised in modern arrangements. Characterized by an abundance of odd time
signatures, classical and jazz techniques, as well as a minimalist approach,
these delicate musical tales stand at the meeting point of the East and West,
reflecting Koshanin's own journey.
Most of this album consists of grounds. Some were written during the reign of the first Queen Elizabeth, around 1600, and others after the Restoration of the monarchy in 1660, following the English Civil War and the Protectorate. The pieces by William Croft, a devotee of Purcell, are even later, and some, like those by Tomkins, who had studied with William Byrd but lived into the middle of the seventeenth century, can be said to bridge the gap between the English Renaissance and the Baroque.
This beautiful new recording, made in 2014, is the first album recording on a newly-restored original 17th century harpsichord.
Those who are particularly interested will enjoy the upper manual (played with the left hand here) being at 4 foot pitch (i.e. an octave higher than notated).
Full liner notes are available with the artwork download to members.
The music on "The Bell Hours" is an eclectic and sentimental take on modern Rock and Roll, taking lyrical themes from more modern times and ideas with our impressions of love, compassion, and mindfulness (not to mention anger and jealousy) and combined it with musical themes stretching from Folk, Rock and Roll, Indie, Hip Hop, and Jazz, culminating in a rich pop music experience with amazing replay value.
The group of talented musicians inspired by the music that came together to tour the album have done an astounding job in translating the dynamics and moods live that the album captured in its recordings.
