Strings Magazine described the album as being full of "slowly unfolding romantic melodies voiced with the dense, dark timbre of Sieber's masterfully wielded instrument," and there's also quietly exotic quality to Hidden Sky?a perfect meeting of Western and Eastern sensibilities in Sieber's sophisticated interplay between major and minor chords. It's this this deft reciprocity that makes Sieber's music so poignant and resonant?it's the clear-eyed acceptance of humanity's oneness with nature as well as our eternal separation from it. "Sukhotai Rain" and "A Common Music" tracks include sounds made by the Elephant Orchestra from Thai Elephant Conservation Center.
